This material could not have been collected and shared with the world
without a lot of effort, luck and assistance from many individuals.
This page will tell some of the story behind the project, and provide a place to thank those who contributed their time, talents and support.
The maintenance manual was found in our father's garage after he died several years ago. He was a Navy mechanic in WWII, and must have preserved this from that time. We three sons found it pretty unusual that Dad never shared this with us,
and are certain that he would be proud that modern technology allows us to share it in this fashion.
I located the 2 P-51s in Philadelphia when the mechanic ordered one of the maintenance manuals. The owner of those planes allowed me to take
the photographs of the construction details, as requested by several model makers around the world.
The original Merlin overhaul manual was owned by the local mechanic, who allowed me to borrow the manual to scan it for this CD.
The additional reference material, the helmets, masks and documentation, Graphic Design, and CD organization for distribution were contributed by Mikael Bowellan in Finland. His Web Site is Terrific !! http://www.caffeineoverdose.net
